Official Holiday Pay Regulations: Saudi Arabia (2027)

Under Article 112 of the Saudi Labor Law, every employee is entitled to days off with full pay on official public holidays designated by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD). In 2027, the Kingdom observes four official statutory holidays: Saudi Founding Day (February 22), Eid al-Fitr (4 to 5 days), Eid al-Adha & Arafat Day (4 to 5 days), and Saudi National Day (September 23).

Official Holiday Pay (Article 112)
Employees are entitled to full pay for all official holiday days without deduction from their salary or annual leave balance.
Work During an Official Holiday (Article 107)
If an employee is required to work during an official holiday, it is treated as overtime. The employer must pay the employee their regular hourly wage plus an overtime bonus equal to 50% of the basic hourly wage (150% total rate).
Overlap with Weekly Rest Days (Executive Regulations)
Under MHRSD Executive Regulations, if a public holiday overlaps with an employee's weekly rest day (Friday or Saturday), the employee must be compensated with an additional compensatory day off before or after the holiday.
