This guide explains how to use the Employo admin panel. You can monitor attendance, manage employees, handle leave and approvals, view the organization chart, manage departments and designations, configure holidays, files, announcements, and run reports.
1. Dashboard
Path: /admin
Your central workspace to monitor attendance, announcements, and organizational activity.
Key Features
- Check-In / Check-Out: Mark your attendance for the day; elapsed work time displays while checked in.
- Reporting Structure: View your position in the organization chart.
- Reportees: Quick access to profiles of employees who report to you.
- New Hires: See recently joined employees.
- Attendance Overview: Summary of today's attendance — total, present, absent, late, on leave.
- Leave Report: Overview of leave usage; linked to leave management.
- Birthdays & Anniversaries: See who's celebrating today or this week.
- Files & Documents: Access recent or important company files.
- Who's In/Out: Snapshot of attendance and leave status for the day.
- Announcements & Notifications: Stay updated with company-wide messages.
- Calendar Overview: Quick view of upcoming holidays or events.
2. Attendance
Path: /admin/attendance
View and manage attendance data across the organization.
How to Use
- Filter by date range, employee, or status (present, late, absent, etc.).
- View check-in/out times, total hours, and work type (office/on-duty).
- Switch to timeline or calendar view for visual summaries.
- Add or review notes for specific entries (e.g. reason for absence).
- Use this module to verify daily attendance, track missing punches, and monitor patterns.
3. Employees
Paths: /admin/employees, /admin/employees?user=<id>, /admin/employees/create
Manage all employee profiles and add new employees.
How to Use
- List View: See all employees with search and filter options.
- Profile View: Click an employee to open their detailed profile (personal info, attendance, leave).
- Create Employee: Click Add Employee to add a new record. Fill in required details (name, email, department, designation, manager, shift, etc.) and save.
- Edit or update employee details anytime. Profile pages also link to attendance and leave records.
4. Leave Requests
Path: /admin/leaves
Manage all employee leave requests and create leaves when required.
How to Use
- View requests with details such as employee, type, dates, days, and status.
- Filter by status, date range, or employee.
- Approve/Reject requests directly or from Approvals.
- Optionally, use Create to add leave on behalf of an employee (e.g. admin-applied leave).
5. Approvals
Path: /admin/approvals
Centralized view for managing all types of approval requests.
How to Use
- Review pending requests (leave, on-duty, regularization).
- Check request details (employee, dates, reason).
- Approve to confirm, or Reject with an optional note.
- Once processed, requests are removed from pending and reflected in employee records.
6. Organization
Path: /admin/organization
Visualize the company's structure through an interactive organization chart.
How to Use
- Expand or collapse nodes to navigate the hierarchy.
- Click on any employee to focus on their team branch.
- Use this to understand reporting lines and department relationships.
7. Departments
Path: /admin/departments
Create and manage company departments.
How to Use
- View a list of all departments.
- Add Department: Enter department name and optional code.
- Edit or Delete as needed (ensure no employees are assigned before deleting).
- Assign employees to departments via their Employee Profile.
8. Designations
Path: /admin/designations
Manage all job titles and designations.
How to Use
- View the list of existing designations.
- Add new titles or codes.
- Edit or Delete as needed (avoid deleting active roles used in reports or policies).
9. Holidays
Path: /admin/holidays
Define and manage company holidays.
How to Use
- View list or calendar of holidays.
- Add Holiday: Set date(s), name, and type (public/optional).
- Edit or Delete holidays when policies change.
- Updates automatically reflect in attendance and leave modules.
10. Files
Path: /admin/files
Manage shared company files, such as policies, handbooks, and templates.
How to Use
- Browse folders and files.
- Upload new documents via drag-and-drop or file picker.
- Download, view, or organize files by folder.
- Use Announcements to direct employees to key documents.
11. Announcements
Path: /admin/announcement
Publish important updates or messages for employees.
How to Use
- Create Announcement: Add title, description, optional links (e.g. policy file), and effective date.
- Publish announcements to display on dashboards and employee announcement pages.
- Edit or retire older announcements as needed.
12. My Profile
Path: /admin/profile
View and update your own admin profile.
How to Use
- Review your personal and job details (name, contact, department, designation, manager).
- Edit allowed fields to keep your information current.
- Ensure data accuracy for org charts and reports.
13. Reports
Path: /admin/reports
Generate and export predefined reports for attendance, leave, and employee data.
How to Use
- Attendance Status: View attendance by date range, employee, or department.
- Check-In/Out Report: Track daily punch times for payroll or audits.
- Leave Reports: Summaries of taken leaves, balances, and usage.
- Today's Report: Overview of who's in, out, or on leave.
- Monthly Report: Consolidated attendance and leave summary for a given month.
- Employee Database: Export employee master data (contacts, departments, designations).
- Use available filters and export options (CSV/Excel) as needed.
14. Settings
Paths: /admin/shift, /admin/ipaddress, /admin/leave-policy, /admin/always-present, /admin/ip-restriction
Configure attendance, leave, and system-wide rules.
How to Use
- Shift: Define work shifts with start/end times. Assign shifts from employee profiles.
- IP Address: Add or remove allowed IPs for check-in validation.
- Leave Policy: Create and manage leave types, balances, and yearly rules.
- Always Present: Mark employees exempt from attendance punching (e.g. remote staff).
- IP Restriction: Enable or disable IP-based attendance limits for security and compliance.
